Grant Description

In 2014, during Xi Jinping's state visit to the Maldives, he pledged that the Chinese Government would donate a sea ambulance to Maldives.

Then, in 2015, during the visit of President of Maldives Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to China, the Maldives and China formally agreed to gift a sea ambulance to the Maldives. The sea ambulance was handed over to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) on July 12, 2018. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
