China donates $1.5 million USD to Pakistan following the 2013 Baluchistan earthquake

On 24 September 2013, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan, particularly around Baluchistan province.

On 25 September 2013, the Chinese government committed to donating 1.5 million USD in cash for earthquake relief efforts in Pakistan.

The handover certificate was issued on 29 November 2013 and the funds were transferred to a State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) account.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Financial Tracking Service captures this donation in flow ID #108986. How exactly this money was spent is unknown. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
