China donates $537,000 worth of equipment to Kenyan Wildlife Service

On November 19, 2015, China donated wildlife protection and conservation equipment worth $537,000 USD to the Kenyan Wildlife Service. The equipment includes 18 China manufactured pick-up trucks, tents, a camera, and telescope.

Also, a month-long vehicle maintenance training session is provided by two employees from Zhongxing Auto to KWS employees. The vehicles will be used in eight different natural reserves.

This donation comes as a part of Chinese and Kenyan cooperation to support wildlife and prevent illegal poaching and animal trades in Kenya. The equipment has been provided. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
