China constructs mineral testing laboratory in Uganda

In June 2015, Uganda signed an agreement with China's Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources for the construction of a mineral testing laboratory. The laboratory would cut costs and time that would otherwise be spent on sending the minerals for testing overseas. No specific financial flow or date for the project has been announced yet.

Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
