Chinese Government commits $16 million grant for 80 buses, 202 water holes, a China-Mozambique Cultural Center and 10,000 tons of food (Linked to Record ID#69207, #69210, #69214)

In 2016, the Chinese Government signed a $16 million grant agreement with the Government of Mozambique for various projects.

These projects included: the purchase of 80 public transport buses, the drilling of 200 water wells (boreholes), the construction of a China-Mozambique Cultural Center, and the donation of 10,000 tons of food in support of food security. The buses were donated to address public transportation problems.

Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
