Grant Description

In November 2014, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Samoan Prime Minister Tuilaepa witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in which the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China pledged to provide "goods for addressing climate change" to the Samoan Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

According to financial documents from the Legislative Assembly of Samoa, this "China Climate Change Technical Assistant" project costed an estimated $80,000 USD. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
