Grant Description

On September 4, 2008, the ceremony for the transfer of Chinese meteorological materials to North Korea was held at the Korea Hotel in Pyongyang.

Chinese Ambassador to North Korea, Liu Xiaoming, and North Korea Meteorological and Hydrological Service Director, Gao Rixun, attended and ceremony.

The equipment donated by the China Meteorological Administration included a siphon rain gauge, water level gauge, portable hydrological velocity and flow meter, telexonometer, radiosonde, car intercom, ultra-short wave sideband radio, among others. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
