Grant Description

12 February 2009, the Government of the People’s Republic of China and The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona signed an agreement to establish a Confucius Institute at Mona.

The Confucius Institute at UWI Mona is a partnership between UWI and Taiyuan University of Technology, and is sponsored by the National Office of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (Hanban). Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
