Grant Description

China loans Belarus $1 Billion in Export Buyer's Credits On March 24, 2010, China pledged to loan Belarus $1 billion USD in preferential buyer's credits, while Belarus will support Beijing's position on Taiwan.

President Alexander Lukashenko announced that they will realize projects with an estimated cost of $1 billion USD, paid by China.

Belarus will spend the money on the modernization of the Minsk Airport (#42314) and the largest power plants, Lukoml (#66982) and Bereza (#66983). Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
