Chinese Government provides a grant for 1 MW solar power plant and 5 MW wind farm

In December 2009, the Chinese Government pledged that it would provide Kazakhstan with equipment for sample solar batteries and wind turbines.

On September 26, 2011, the Chinese Government signed an agreement on free technical assistance with the Government of Kazakhstan.

China agreed to provide a grant of pilot samples of solar batteries and wind turbines to Kazakhstan for renewable energy projects.

The equipment from the grant was to enable the construction of a 1 MW solar power plant (SES) and a 5 MW wind farm (WES). Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
