Chinese Government provides RMB 25 million to Tajikistan for social and economic programs in ETCA

According to the BBC, on Dec 3, 2003, China signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) with Tajikistan. China agreed to provide Tajikistan with a grant of RMB 25 million. The grant money was intended to be used for the implementation of social and economic programmes in Tajikistan.

The agreement was signed by Tajik Minister of Economy and Trade Hakim Soliyev and the Chinese ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Tajikistan, Wu Hongbin. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
