CITIC to create 50 “CITIC Hope Primary Schools” in rural Myanmar (Linked to Record ID#38442 and #39237)

On 4 July 2014 Group Assistant President and Chair of CITIC Hong Bo and Mr.

Ohn Myint, Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development in the capital of Myanmar, met in Nay Pi Daw to sign “The MOU of Myanmar Rural Area Development Program Donated by CITIC Group and CP Group” and to launch the “Village Fund Project”. The three promoters of the projects are CITIC, Myanmar and CP Group of Thailand.

With regard to the project, CITIC committed to donate 50 “CITIC Hope Primary Schools” and provide training for the teachers in order to improve basic education in Myanmar’s rural area. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
