Grant Description

On 4 March, 2010, the Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon Feleti Vaka'uta Sevele signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, H.E. Mr Fan Guijing, for a grant of RMB 20 million for the social and economic development of Tonga.

This was followed by the signing of an Economic and Technical Cooperation agreement for the same grant the following day. There is no record of disbursement. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
