China and Indonesia will cooperate in the protection of the Bali Mynah

On 12th December 2011, the Chinese Ministry of Science and the Ministry of Forestry of Indonesia signed a joint statement promising to co-operate in protecting the Bali Mynah species.

Chinese Vice Minister, Cao Jianlin signed a joint statement on behalf of the Chinese, expressing that China is willing to share their experiences and achievements in the field of protecting endangered species with Indonesia. Both sides will will support the efforts with local research scientists. They also agreed to exchange related research and conduct short term training courses and academic exchange seminars.

Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
