China provides biogas equipment worth RMB 2,450,000 to Myanmar

On 23 March 2011, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Li Junhua signed an exchange of letters, agreeing that the Chinese government would provide more than 300 sets of 6 m3 biogas equipment to Myanmar to promote methane-based bio-energy development and utilization, and to improve the rural ecological environment.

Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
