Grant Description
On October 21, 2009, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao announced that China will provide Timor-Leste with 30 million RMB of grant after his meeting with Prime Minister Alexandre Xanana Gusmao of Timor-Leste.
An official ETCA (Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement) was signed later on December 4, 2009 by Chinese Ambassador Fu Yuancong and Timor Leste's Minister Costa on behalf of their respective governments (中国和东帝汶两国政府签署三个经济技术合作文件). The projects that this grant funds are unknown.
Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
