Grant Description

On July 22 and 23, 2013, the Prime Minister of Tonga, Lord Tu’ivakano met with China’s Premier Li Keqiang, Minister for Commerce, Mr. Gao Huacheng in Beijing, and also with China Minister for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi.

China’s Premier further outlined that “to demonstrate the importance of its bilateral cooperation, the Government of the People’s Republic of China decided to grant to the Government of Tonga CNY 100 million estimated at TOP$ 30 million." Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
