Grant Description

In April 2002, the Chinese government agreed to send a medical mission to Papua New Guinea. The medical team of 8 doctors, an administrative assistant, and a chef arrived in Papua New Guinea in November 2002.

The doctors, specializing in a variety of fields from gynecology to dentistry, worked at Port Moresby General Hospital for two years, departing in November 2004. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
