China Eximbank commits 200 million RMB credit line On 4 September 2006, representatives of the governments of China and Uruguay signed a framework agreement outlining a credit line of up to 200 million RMB that would be extended by the Export-Import Bank of China for projects that would later be agreed upon by both parties.

If Uruguay and China did not agree on the use of the loan within three years, the agreement would become invalid.

This framework agreement was approved by the Legislative and Executive branches of the Uruguay Government through Law No. 18226 (Ley Nº 18.226) on 22 December 2007. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
