Grant Description

In 2011, the Chinese Government pledged to fund the Wanica Hospital Construction Project.

On 2 January 2015, the Chinese Government and the Government of Suriname signed an exchange of notes regarding the construction of Wanica Hospital. The Chinese Government reportedly committed RMB 171 million of grant funding for this project. The total estimated cost of the project is RMB 194.4 million ($29.4 million).

Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
