Grant Description
Bolivia Awaits $3 Billion USD from Chinese fund for Latin America In 2014, The Bolivian government asked China for $3,000 million to finance four infrastructure projects.
These resources will come from a US $10,000 million fund that China set for Latin America in July during a BRICS summit, designated to provide lines of credit to finance development projects.
The 4 megaprojects to be financed include: industrialization of the Mutún iron deposit, construction of the Rurrenabaque-Riberalta highway, and the Boyuibe-El Espino highway, and a Motacusito-Puerto Busch railway line. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.
Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
