Grant Description

On August 6, 2013, the Chinese government pledged to grant 100 buses to the Sudanese government free of charge. The project was implemented by China FAW Group Import & Export Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of FAW Group.

The buses arrived in Sudan on January 22, 2014, and China officially delivered the vehicles to the Sudanese government during a ceremony in Khartoum on April 9, 2014, where the Khartoum State Governor Abdul-Rahman Al-Khadir and the Chinese Ambassador to Sudan Luo Xiaoguang signed a certificate handing them over.

Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
