Grant Description

On 2006 Dec 6, sponsored by Chinese firms in Kenya, the Chinese Embassy donates 25000 USD through a youth development org to renovate new classrooms of Mcedo-Beijing school (姆赛多－北京小学). Located at the heart of Mathare slums, the Mcedo-Beijing school accommodates 250 disadvantaged pupils and 10 teachers.

The renovation project is completed with 8 classrooms and 600 square meters in June 26 2007. It is unclear how much funding came from the Chinese embassy. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
