Grant Description

In 2006, the Chinese government donated funds worth Rs. 214 million for upgrading the Tevta Light Engineering Service Centre at Gujranwala.

The grant will install Hi-Tech Machinery, and provide facilities for Material Testing, advanced Welding & Fabrication, Hi-Frequency Heat Treatment, Machining of Dies & Moulds, Induction & Vacuum Hardening and Plasma Cutting machinery.

The agreement was signed by Mohsin Syed, the Chairman of Tevta, and Zhou Zhencheng, the Economic & Commercial Counsellor of China.

First Secretary of Chinese Embassy in Pakistan Yan Jianming, Zonal Manager (North) Group Capt E Muhammad Rashid, Manager Service Centers Akhtar Abbas Bharwana and Manager Public Relations Mustafa Kamal Pasha were also present. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
