Chinese Government provides RMB 32.3 million grant for Pakistan's National Seismic Monitoring Network

In 2007, following an earthquake in Kashmir, the Chinese Government agreed to fund a National Seismic Monitoring Network in Pakistan.

On July 18, 2007, the Government of Pakistan and the Chinese Government signed letters of exchange to codify the RMB 32.2 million grant commitment for this project. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
