Grant Description

Chinese Government pledges to provide $200 million loan for Gwadar Coastal Highway Project In 2006, the Chinese Government pledged to provide $200 million to finance the Gwadar coastal highway project. The highway connects the Gwadar port with Karachi. According to shipping industry experts, the Gwadar Port could be used as corridor for energy supply to China.

As of 2014, the project is completed. The highway is also referred to as the Makran Coastal Highway. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
