Shaanxi Normal University provides scholarships to Afghan students from Kabul University (Linked to Record ID#34665)

On 27 September 2013, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Kabul University and Shaanxi Normal University, named the China Shaanxi Normal University and Kabul University Exchange MoU.

The Chinese government would provide government-sponsored scholarship to Afghan students to study in China, support the education of Chinese language in Afghanistan, promote exchanges between the two universities (carrying out teacher exchange programs and student exchange programs, as well as the exchange of information that is not limited to books, academic materials and other research publications), and also have the two universities jointly organize an international conference, seminar, symposia and other cooperation projects.

In a report by Bakhtar News Agency, China would provide scholarship to Afghan students to study in two specific fields- education and hydraulic engineering. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
