Grant Description

On December 31, 2011, an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement was signed between China and Afghanistan for the provision of 150 million RMB (23.5 million USD) in grant aid to Afghanistan's Ministry of Finance.

The report published in Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs website mentions that the grant would be used for projects based on consultations between the two countries, while a Chinese media article mentioned that it the grant will be used to improve the livelihood of the people in Afghanistan. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.
