In 2003, the Chinese Government provided a $4.35 million grant for the Jamhuriat Hospital Renovation Project in Kabul.

The project involved the reconstruction of approximately 6,000-7,000 square meters of the hospital, the installation of medical examination facilities such as CT-scans and X-rays, the provision of electrocardiogram and blood test instruments, and the installation of an air-conditioning system. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
