Grant Description

On April 8, 2006, the Chinese government granted 300,000 CNY for the survey on Cambodian National Botanical Garden (CNBG) to help plan its establishment, 援柬埔寨国家植物园项目 in Chinese.

At the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Sen of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council of the People's Republic of China paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia from April 7 to 8, 2006.

The two parties signed Letters of Exchange for the Chinese government agreeing to send a team to investigate the Cambodian National Botanical Garden Project ("中华人民共和国政府和柬埔寨王国政府联合公报").

The survey was conducted in Siem Reap Province for one year, beginning on April 8, 2006, and completed on April 8, 2007. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
