Chinese Government provides RMB 70 million grant for Nouakchott Friendship Hospital Construction Project (Linked to Record ID#56930)

On March 29, 2009, the Chinese Government agreed to provide an RMB 70 million grant for the Nouakchott Friendship Hospital Construction Project.

This project involved the construction of a hospital in a populous slum with Arafat district in the southern part of the capital city of Nouakchott.

The hospital, with a total floor area of 7,410.2 square meters, has 88 beds and a variety of departments, including clinic service, emergency treatment, operation rooms, X-ray section, clinical laboratory, and inpatient departments. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
