Grant Description
In 2012, the Chinese Government signed a grant agreement with the Government of Benin for the Abomey-Calavi Technical School Construction Project. In total, China’s Ministry of Commerce reportedly committed $14 million of grant funding for this project.
The proceeds of this grant were used to finance a construction contract between Government of Benin and Anhui Foreign Economic Construction Group (AFECC), which was signed on 18 December, 2012. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.
Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
