Grant Description

In November 2007, Chinese UN peacekeepers began work on the construction of the 3km China-Sudan Friendship Road in Ed Daein, East Darfur State of Sudan.

The road was built with Chinese personnel and equipment; the peacekeepers also helped the local people drill wells, treat illnesses, provide medicines and build a China-Sudan Friendship School. Construction of the road finished in December 2013. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
