China donates cholera medication worth 1 million Yuan to Sierra Leone

In August 2012, the Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Kuang Weilin, on behalf of the Chinese government, signed an exchange of letters with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sierra Leone to donate a batch of cholera drugs to Sierra Leone.

The Head of Political Section and Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy , Xu Zhou, said the embassy was closely following the cholera situation in the country and was deeply concerned about the development. All Africa, a media outlet, reported that the drugs are worth 1 million Yuan. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
