The Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund (CTEF) program is a crucial part of the United States' whole-of-government approach to support the lasting defeat of ISIS.
The CTEF specifically supports the Department of Defenses (DoDs) efforts to work "by, with, and through" the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) in Iraq and the Vetted Syrian Opposition (VSO) in Syria to build key security force capabilities, assist in professionalizing partner security forces, and promote the long term stability of the region while preventing the resurgence of ISIS.
