Grant Description

ICP delivered the Maritime Risk Assessment (MRA) Workshop in Lagos, Nigeria.

The five-day workshop provided Nigerian 32 mid-level operational managers responsible for port and maritime security with the capability to identify, evaluate, and prioritize maritime risks.

Specific emphasis was placed on the participants ability to identify, assess, and apply risk assessment methodologies, recognize processes, procedures, and technologies to mitigate risk; and identify the cost-benefit analysis of risk mitigation.

Overall, participants gained a better understanding of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) proliferation risk reduction and cost analysis methods while developing the next steps for their organizations to strengthen bonds and communication between the chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) and port security stakeholders present with the Office of the National Security Advisor (ONSA) taking the lead.
