Grant Description

On June 18, 2009 at Friendship Hall in Khartoum, Sudan's Gezira State and Chinese CMCE Company signed a memo of understanding for CMCE to modernize irrigation and improve seeds. Per the agreement, Chinese will clean the water canals and introduce modern machines.

Sudan's Minister of Agriculture, Abdul-Halim Ismail Al- Mutaafi, and Minister of Finance, Awad Al Jaz, attended the signing. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
