Grant Description

In October 2003, the Umutara Rice Field Management Project (The No. 4 Field Management Project according to the Rwanda Ministry of Agriculture) was handed-over to the Government of Rwanda. The project had been in operation for 18 months, suggesting it began in April-May of 2002.

The project has been financed and managed by the Chinese government, and it is reported that more than 4 million USD has been invested in the project so far. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
