Grant Description

In February 2007, China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) President, Jiang Jiemin, signed an Nonprofit Foundation agreement with Sudan to grant 1 million USD to the Sudanese Ministry of Social Security of Khartoum State to grant USD 1 million to establish a 5-year social welfare fund.

The fund will improve the living and medical facilities of orphanages, senior citizens' homes and public medical institutions in Khartoum state. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
