Grant Description

On October 29, 2002, Chinese and Cape Verdean government officials signed an exchange of notes regarding the Poilão Dam Construction Project.

The Government of Cape Verde reportedly financed this project with EUR 4 million of grant funding from an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) that it signed with China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM). Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
