Grant Description

The Kadjogbe Fou Itounou Activity aims to improve inter-group trust and understanding through engagement in mutually beneficial activities.

The implementing partner, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), will address the three conflict priority drivers by creating opportunities around which divided communities, local and regional traditional and state authorities can work to lessen the risk of political or election-related violence and improve conflict prevention, mitigation and advocacy skills.

The priority actions will be (1) reduce the frequency of farmer-herder conflicts in high risk areas and assist farmer-herders to peacefully manage natural resources; (2) improve participation of women, youth, and disadvantaged groups to engage in mutually beneficial activities to better integrate into their community's economic and social life; and (3) rebuild trust between community members and their political, traditional, and religious leaders as well as among community members due to political disagreement, economic disparity, resource competition, etc.
