Grant Description

Koota Injena is a "proof-of-concept" learning project designed to leverage Amref's ongoing work with clan elders and leaders to generate intergenerational dialogue between clan elders, women, and youth champions to address inequitable norms that support the on-going practice of Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM) and Female Genital Mutilation or Cutting (FGM/C).

The project is based in Marsabit and Samburu, two counties of Kenya where CEFM and FGM/C prevalence rates are extremely high.
