Grant Description

FATA Infrastructure Program (FIP) is a key component of the USAID/Pakistan stabilization strategy for Pakistans Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). Decades of poor governance, underdevelopment, and regional conflict have contributed to widespread instability in FATA.

In partnership with the Government of Pakistan (GoP), FIP aims to address instability in the region by constructing key roads and water, energy, and irrigation systems, thereby improving conditions for FATAs long-term development and the building linkages between FATA and the rest of the country.

The FIP case study assesses whether project-supported road and electricity infrastructure has improved the availability and quality of service delivery and whether and how it has affected the daily lives of local residents and their confidence in government. Furthermore, the study explores additional infrastructure needs of affected populations.
