SCAPIS-Environment is a national network for studying environment and health in the SCAPIS cohort.
We plan to hold digital meetings four times a year and physical meetings 1-2 per year to facilitate collaboration among researchers and develop new projects.
The digital meetings will discuss ongoing articles, applications, and projects, and let new researchers present their proposals. The physical meetings are planned to be longer and also promote collaboration among various researchers and experts.
Physical meetings offer an important platform for younger researchers to network and develop by meeting more experienced colleagues.
In addition to formal discussions, the importance of informal meetings is emphasized, as they can stimulate new collaborations. Some meetings will also include representatives from various stakeholders, e g the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and the Swedish Transport Administration, to get their input on research results and future projects.
One such meeting is already planned for October 2024 (before this grant is decided).
A meeting is also planned for March 2025 in Umeå, which will focus on air pollution and climate and is coordinated with a doctoral course.
Another meeting is planned for October 2025 in Gothenburg, with a focus on new research applications for long-term studies.
One to two physical meetings are planned 2026.SCAPIS-Environment involves researchers from six Swedish universities and various experts in environmental and health-related fields, such as SMHI, Stockholm Air and Noise, the Malmö Environmental Administration, and the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI).
The network is organized into smaller groups based on research interests and project focus.
It is led by Leo Stockfelt and Petter Ljungman and aims to include new researchers over time to promote future studies on the environment and health in the SCAPIS cohort.
