Grant Description

Background: Changes to the organization and implementation of health and social care are essential to address future societal needs.

This requires enhanced quality of care, increased patient participation, and improved access to care to ensure more effective resource utilization.

To fulfil these efforts, there is an urgent need to foster a new generation of outstanding researchers and clinicians that are anchored in what can be encompassed by the notion of person-centred and integrated care.

This high-quality research needs to be collaborative, with knowledge shared between researchers and groups at both national and interdisciplinary levels. A strong network that gathers enthusiastic, skilled, and successful researchers in this area is therefore needed.

They will provide the required knowledge and expertise for research on health and social care, its provision, organizing and practice, essential parts of the transformation of Sweden´s future health and social care systems. The new network: SINIC stands for ‘The Swedish Interdisciplinary, and Interprofessional Network in Person-centred and Integrated Care’.

The SINIC is an interdisciplinary network of researchers for collaboration in the area of integrated care in Sweden.

Currently, more than 50 doctoral students and their supervisors will be connected to the network representing a broad range of disciplines.Goals: The main goal of SINIC is to increase national collaborations in the field of integrated care between researchers, to support young researchers in their career development, and provide a unique interdisciplinary and interprofessional national environment that will result in pioneering science.Funding needed for: We aim to further develop and extend the network to a more national level.

We also plan to intensify the career development of junior researchers, boost research output, increase interdisciplinary funding opportunities, and increase the implementation and utilization of research findings.
