A group of researchers at Linköping University (LiU) is planning a conference in medical ethics (LIMEC) 12–13 June 2025. This is the fourth in a series of conferences on medical ethics organized by Swedish universities.
In 2022 it was organized by Lund University (LUMEC), in 2023 by Karolinska Institutet (KIMEC) and in 2024 by Uppsala University (UMEC).
But now the torch passes to Linköping to then start all over again. The conference in Linköping aims to consolidate and strengthen medical ethics as a research area in Sweden and to continue to contribute to the establishment of an annual conference in medical ethics in Sweden.
Since the aim is also to strengthen collaboration between research and practice, it is important that the conference takes place on Campus US, which is located in close proximity to the hospital buildings, so that interested healthcare professionals, students at the medical faculty and researchers can easily participate in the conference. The researchers in the working group at LiU are linked to a number of center formations (Centre for Applied Ethics, National Centre for Priorities in Health, Center for Medical Humanities and Bioethics) at LiU where research on medical ethics is carried out in different ways.
In addition to two invited speakers, there will be a number of parallel presentations with an estimated 30-40 presenters. The total number of conference participants is limited to 80 people.
