Work science, which belongs to the department of culture and society at Dalarna University, has been commissioned to organize the annual conference of the Forum for working life research (FALF) 9 - 11 June 2025.
The purpose of 2025-years´ conference is to contribute to knowledge development within contemporary working life research, by opening up for dialogue on the concepts of work and sustainability as well as methods for practical research.
The conference is primarily aimed at Nordic researchers with a focus on work and working life in fields such as work science, business administration, sociology, human geography or work health.
We particularly welcome practitioners from working life who are engaged in issues related to the theme of the conference.
The conference´s focus is on themes and issues that revolve around what is meant by a sustainable working life and how it can be achieved in collaboration with practice.
Central is which current and future working life challenges we can identify and how these can be met in order for social, economic and ecological sustainability to arise.
Another central conference theme is methodological approaches that open up for this collaboration with different actors in working life As far as the conference program is concerned, three to four well-established working life researchers will be invited to give so-called keynotes.
One of these main lectures is carried out in collaboration between a researcher and a practitioner, to specifically highlight the possibilities and dilemmas of practice oriented research.
In order to strengthen the exchange of knowledge between researchers and practitioners social activities will be arranged. The conference work is organized on the basis of a conference committee led by a conference general and a scientific committee led by a professor of work science.
From August 2024, Dalarna University has a brand new campus in Borlänge, and it is in these premises that the conference will take place.
