Grant Description

Helplines are a recognized component in mental health promotion but there is, both internationally and in Sweden, a lack of research-based quality indicators to assess and monitor the quality of conversations.

This project aims to develop quality indicators for the assessment of conversations, based on research conducted in previous and current Forte-funded projects, as well as other relevant research.

The development will be carried out in collaboration between the organization and researchers through three activities over two years: 1) compilation of implications from research projects and other previous research, as well as guidelines regarding conversation quality on helplines (year 1); 2) based on the compilation, extraction of quality indicators for suicide preventive helplines (year 1); 3) examination and adjustment of quality indicators based on a consensus process (year 2).

The organization´s readiness to allow and encourage research into its operations, as well as the project participants´ previous collaboration in research and development of training and training resources, paves the way for a successful utilization project.
