The aim is to carry out activities that enable a resilient implementation of Housing First.
The activities are based on research results from a program fidelity measurement carried out within the framework of the ongoing research project "RECO: Resilient Communities through Sustainable Welfare Transformation".
Planned activities:Develop training and study materials adapted for various stakeholders such as social workers, their managers, property owners and municipalities.Arrange workshops and lab sessions with service users, peer supporters, social workers, managers, landlords and carers to promote the use of the RECO project research.Develop action strategies and activities based on identified strengths/fidelity – in the form of doing more of/retaining/strengthening.
State of knowledge and added value: Housing First is a model that aims to provide homeless people with stable housing as a basic human right, followed by individually tailored support to deal with other life problems.
The implementation of Housing First in Sweden and internationally has proven to be effective, especially when program fidelity is maintained.
Our planned activities in the form of labs play an important role in strengthening and developing the Housing First model and in identifying success factors and challenges.Relevance and utilisation: The project has a very high social relevance as it continues in parallel with the ongoing national homelessness strategy in Sweden.
Increasing understanding and knowledge helps to reduce anxiety and skepticism, which in turn leads to better opportunities to build a therapeutic alliance, honest relationships, and commitment. Our activities contribute to improving and adapting efforts to local needs.
Through these activities, the project is expected to create benefit for the research stakeholders by increasing the opportunities for scientific knowledge to be put to use and strengthening the utilization within the social service´s work with homelessness.
