Our contribution to implementing Agenda 2030 is focusing health efforts on people in extremely poor health due to marginalization, multi-morbidity, and poverty.
Women in homelessness in high-income countries face extreme health inequities, resulting in considerably shortened lives.
The goal is to develop and implement healthcare interventions for inclusion health among homeless women in Sweden; in collaboration with the women, stakeholders from healthcare services, nurse education, civil society and the Centre for Knowledge on Men´s Violence against Women.
Three work packages form the project: End stigmatisation and discrimination in healthcare: exploring barriers/facilitators for inclusion health before and during COVID-19 pandemic, caring behaviors in RNs, clinical- and demographic variables, attitudes toward homelessness, health, exposure to violence, health literacy and use of IT; using a knowledge intervention/education for RNs and nursing students.
Use digitalization to increase access to healthcare services: to describe the barriers and facilitators of IT; the attitudes towards eHealth to promote inclusion health among women in homelessness.
Increase knowledge about gender-specific differences: through a cohort of persons with addiction in homelessness; to investigate if men receive care in line with national guidelines for addiction care as compared to women and in the same cohort explore COVID-19 related care.
Further to develop a National Action Plan for Women in Homelessness who have been exposed to violence. The interventions focus on: (1) Increase knowledge about inclusion health for women in homelessness for RNs and nursing students; (2) Develop eHealth for women in homelessness; and (3) Develop and implement a National Action Plan for Care of Homeless Women with Experiences of Abuse, Assault and Trauma.
This project targets Goal 3 Good health and wellbeing, 5 Achieving gender equality, and 10 Reducing inequality within Sweden.
